Usuzakuraki Shinsengumi Kitan (PS2 and Artbook)

Sample Image Well one thing is for sure, the Shinsengumi sure is hot in the dating games arena! Some of you may remember Bakumatsu Renka Shinsengumi by VRidge/D3 which has it's own healthy fanbase in Japan, so healthy that they showed up on celphone games, other PS2 games and a sequel named Bakumatsu Renka Karyou Kenshiten.

Now comes Idea Factory making an announce early this April about another PS2 game in the works that will be released this September. It's an "Otomate" game aka dating sim. The title is Usuzakuraki Shinsengumi Kitan and apparently introduces paranormal elements to the Shinsengumi. The main character is named "Chizuru Yukimura", the daughter of a Japanese doctor who was trained by the Dutch who vanishes during a trip to Kyoto. In search of her father Chizuru travels to Kyoto to investigate and witnesses a Shinsengumi member transform into an a monster/ogre. Because of this she is captured by the Shinsengumi and it is later revealed that this transformation was actually caused by her father who is still missing. She joins the Shinsengumi in search of her father to find a cure for the infection. The art of the game was done by Kazuki Yone who is no stranger to game artwork. The following members that will appear on the game so far is Kondou Isami, Hijikata Toshizou, Okita Souji, Nagakura Shinpachi, Saitou Hajime, Todou Heisuke, Yamanami Keisuke and Harada Sanosuke. Please read on to see their character designs!

Shinsengumi Gunrou Den (Gunraw Den)
Written by kizu

It's been a good few years since the release of Shinsengumi Gunrou-den. I actually imported this game the first time it came out in late 2004 developed by Red Entertainment for Sega since Watsuki Nobuhiro created the characters for this game. Most of you know that I'm a big fan of Saitou Hajime from Rurouni Kenshin, but Watsuki brings into this game a completely new cast and designs that is different but does not disappoint. Please note that character designs were done by Hidenori Matsubara while Watsuki is credited for the creation of the original characters. Then in 2007 it was released in PAL systems (Europe) by Midas interactive in English no less! Here I show you a bit more about the game itself through videos I've captured through gameplay.
