Hakuouki: Bakumatsu Musouroku

Hakuouki: Bakumatsu MusourokuThis is older news but I thought I’d put it up for those who’d want to import this new Hakuouki game that will come out. Earlier this August, it was announced that Hakuouki: Bakumatsu Musouroku will get a “fighting” game on the PSP. The game is the melee format, similar to games developed by Koei such as Dynasty Warriors or Warriors Orochi. It is not developed by Koei but by Zerodiv and published by Idea Factory. Marketing is being handled by KOEI-Tecmo Net. Frankly I like these types of game. I've spent many nights relieving stress by playing Warriors Orochi! So I will probably import it as unlike previous Hakuouki games, this is not visual novel and gameplay centers on hack and slash. Visit the official site here.

Rurouni Kenshin New Anime is a New Kyoto Arc

Rurouni Kenshin New Anime is a New Kyoto ArcFor those who did not know, last week Aniplex confirmed that the new Rurouni Kenshin anime project will be a 2 part remake of the Kyoto Arc. The first part will be told in Misao’s point of view and will be screened in Japanese theaters this January. All the original cast will be back with the exception Hirotaka Suzuoki who was Saitou Hajime’s VA. Saitou will be played by Narita Ken. Also Furuhashi Kazuhiro is back as Director and Studio DEEN will be animating the series. More details can be found at kenshin-tv.com.

There is talk that Aniplex of America is already in negotiations with Aniplex Japan to bring this project to the US. Currently Aniplex of America is releasing the Blu-ray editions of the Rurouni Kenshin OVAs, Tsuioku-hen (shipped this week) and Seisou-hen. They are also distributing the movie on October 26, 2011.

Website Update, Password Resets and Registration!

WebsiteWe updated our website – not with goodies but with “bones”. The site was due for a technical update for a while now and we moved to a much more simpler CMS. Of course nothing ever goes the way I want it to and although I’ve managed to move all of the users – if you want to logon with your old username you need to Contact Me, tell me your username so I can reset your password. You can not reset your own password it won’t work. Just contact me with your username – I promise I won’t bite and you’ll get your stats back and some pretty nifty access going forwards.

While I’m taking care of password resets – our next move will be revamping the sections for content. I'll be posting the updates in the forums for now. To access the gallery, media and downloads sections you'll have to login. Please ignore the publishing dates, the update didn’t retain those so don’t let that confuse you. Those who wanted to register while I had it turned off can now do so (no need to contact me for a password – the password reset is purely for old members). Thank you for your patience!

Aksys brings Hakuouki State-side!

Aksys brings Hakuouki State-side!A while ago we asked Shinsengumi fans to fill out the survey at Aksysgames. Well if you did, it's time to congratulate yourself! For less than 10 minutes of your time we've shown the game publisher that there is a market for otomate games in the US.

At Anime-expo 2011 Aksys announced that they are bringing "Hakuouki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom" to the Sony Playstation Portable (PSP) and will also be downloadable in the Playstation Network Store. The game is slated for release in the first quarter of 2012.

NEW! Rurouni Kenshin Anime Production (Coming Soon)

AnimeAll Rurouni Kenshin fans (and Saitou fans!) REJOICE! A new anime is in the works as confirmed by the June issue of Jump Square. We have no details yet of what the new animation is about, of course everyone is hoping for either a complete re-animation of the entire series (including Jinchuu) or the animation of the Jinchuu arc itself. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the entire series, either way it is a WIN situation for RK fans. In celebration of the 15th year anniversary they already released the PSP game "Saisen” the past month (I got my copy too), and soon are planning a release on blu-ray of the OVAs. If the new animation in the PSP is any indication of the upcoming project, I don’t think any RK fan will be disappointed. Having played the game (which I thought was a decent fighter for the PSP), the animated OP was entirely gorgeous in CG. I am keeping my fingers crossed and am guessing that perhaps it is slated for a fall release. I know fans have been jumping for joy since the news, rightly so as we’ve waited for many years for this kind of follow up. Stay tuned for more info and feel free to send info our way if you have any! Thank you! Also visit this site Kenshin TV as they probably will update with news soon.
