Was the eldest son of a common foot soldier of the Iyo Matsuyama clan
In 1855 went to Edo ending up working as something like a handy man, he returns to his clan afterwards but leaves again and this seems to be the time he becomes a free-loader in the Shieikan
He joined the Roshigumi in 1863 and goes with Kondou and others to Kyoto
He participated in the Ikedaya raid on 1864
Harada’s name became famous because of the plot of Ito and his splinter group to frame him (and the Shinsengumi) in the assassination of Ryoma Sakamoto and Nakaoka Shintarou, however Harada was not pursued after that, the plot was for the higher officials of the Shinsengumi specifically Kondou and Hijikata.
With the defeat in Toba-Fushimi he joins the fighting in Koshu Katsunuma, after both defeats he separates from the Shinsengumi along with Nagakura, he will also separate from nagukara at the Yamazaki inn and goes back to Edo.
He joines the Shogitai to guard the Shogun but dies in a fight with the New Imperial Army.
Hi favorite sword was Koufu Juukyou Tomo
His Kaimyo is Sei Homare Ennyuu Koji and his grave is outside the Jutoku-ji Temple in Takinogawa Kita-ku, Tokyo
